In the midst of a maddening crowd,
Of zooming ships, not at all loud,
Of statues fixated on phones, walking past me,
I stood under the shade of a virtual tree.
Bridges covered in lights, dazzling one another,
Tall towers trying to outshine the other,
I saw no beggar, I saw no litter,
Yet, it was all so bitter.
I looked up searching for the sky,
Structures stared back at me, about to cry!
Was it a night or was it a day?
Well, if only I had a little to say.
My eyes caught a lake, a few steps ahead,
To my surprise, it was all but dead,
I looked down, searching for my reflection,
All I could see was a dark ocean.
